“Saxn for Jesus” JANUARY 2008 NEWSLETTER
Hello to all!
Thank you to all who supported this ministry this past year of 2007. I am grateful to have friends like you who stand with me as I go and share Jesus with people. We had a great year in the Lord with countless opportunities to share His love. I gave out bibles, Christian tracts, CD’s, books to many, as well as talked with individuals one on one about the Lord all with one purpose in mind. Plant seeds for the kingdom! To tell people about Him!! I become more excited every day just to be apart of the Lord’s work! From going to the nursing homes here at home to playing in Nashville Tennessee in front of many people, the Lord continues to use me. I praise Him!
What 2008 holds is up to our Lord. I want to continue to move forward in Him and obey Him. There are several things in works that I will announce later. There are several big events that we are going to minister at later in the year. Stay tuned for more information. There are organizations that I was accepted into this past year. I am a member of the North American Saxophone Alliance and a new member of the Country Gospel Music Association in Branson, Missouri as well as a lifetime member of the United States Association of Gospel Musicians and Entertainers in Nashville, Tennessee.
God is so good!! I look forward to 2008 being a great year serving the Lord! Stay tuned for updates in the ministry happenings. Lord Bless you all for your support

Saxn for Jesus Newsletter October 2007
Hello to all my Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Much has been happening within the ministry this past month of September that I will try to bring you up-to-date. First, let me say that God receives all glory and honor for all the doors of opportunity that He has given us to share and do His work. I humble myself before Him and am thankful to be apart of what our Lord is doing in the lives of people in these last days.
We were able to share at the DuQuoin State fair this year again for Chapel services both Sundays. We were also given yet another opportunity to come on a Sunday afternoon to play sax and give words of encouragement to the fair goers. We met new friends while there and seen familiar faces too. We look forward to returning next year to the fair. What a huge ministry and outreach opportunity this is.
We held outdoors services in Pinckneyville this past month as well. Our Thanks to Brother George at Least of the Brethren ministries for having us come and evangelize and play sax, share testimony of the goodness of God and pray with people. We trust and know God’s word when forth and many people were blessed. We look forward to going again to Pinckneyville, Illinois to share Jesus with the people there. Thanks again George!
We rounded out the month with a mission trip to Paw,Paw Kentucky to a food center there in the Appalachian Mountains called “Two Hands for Christ”. We took food, clothing, winter coats, gloves and hats, toys, bedding supplies and school supplies and backpacks. A big thanks, first to my home church, Heartland Christian Center for their donations and their prayers. Thanks to Pate Chapel Church in Murphysboro, Illinois for their generous donations of food and clothing. A big thanks to Ken & Pat Norris of the “Little Disciple Ministries” in Benton, Illinois for sending the new clothing and new backpacks stuffed with school supplies. I know personally that all these items will get to those in need. Thank you to Pam & Tommy for opening your home to us while we were there. May the Lord continue to bless you both. The trip to the mountains is 1000 miles round trip and I am thankful for all the donations that came in to make the trip possible.
Looking ahead: October is looking to be another great month of opportunity to share as we have several services scheduled. Make sure, if you can to check our website frequently. I do post our services and ministry happenings there as well as current photo’s to see. Remember our website:

Ministry Values & Beliefs - July 15, 2007
A: The bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit. In it's entirely, the bible leads us, teaches us, encourages us, gives us strength and power to walk to Christian life. God's word always has and always will be with us. God's word directs our path of life
B: One God, yet operating as three. The father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. A omnipresent God, a Savior in our Lord Jesus and a teacher in the Holy Spirit.
C: Jesus Christ is the Son of God and in the beginning was with of God (John 1:1) Jesus birth as being the divine work and plan of our heavenly Father. Jesus, who came to pay the penalty for our sins and put us back in right relationship with the Father. Jesus died and rose from the grave, defeating the enemy, giving us all authority and victory over the devil. Jesus now sits in heaven by the Father making intercession for us and will one day return for His bride
D: The Holy Spirit's work will always point and give glory to the Father. He will comfort us, teach us and draw us to closer relationship with the Father. Holy Spirits works to convict us of our sins and draws us to the loving arms of our Father, who forgives our sins(I John 1:9)
E: The greatest of all Christian virtues is love as stated in I Corinthians 13.
F: Matthew 28: 15 commands to "Go". We as believers should not haste, but be motivate to tell others the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

On Sax....Attitude! - July 15, 2007
Many People ask me about my attitude toward playing the saxophone. Let me share a story I read many years ago that really sums up my feelings on "sax attitudes".
Larry Jones(not real name) is 25 years old. He's been playing tenor sax since junior high school. Larry works in a weekend club date band and plays jazz whenever there is a opportunity. He has 83 mouthpieces, 15 ligatures, and 3 tenor saxophones.
Last year, he had the lacquer scraped off one of his saxophones, had metal resonators installed in another saxophone, and had his third sax overhauled three times in six months. He has never played one mouthpiece for more than a week nor has he played one horn for more than a year.
Larry believes that one day he'll try some mouthpiece or try some horn and that piece of equipment will cause the clouds to part and instantly make him sound like a combination of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Sonny Rollins on a good day. This musician is looking for growth, inspiration, and improvement in hardware accessories because he is afraid to face the fact that what he is looking for must come from inside. It is easier to believe that a new piece of equipment will make the lightning strike, than to accept the scary fact that passion, originality, and creativity must come from within.
Saxn for Jesus Newsletter July 2007 - July 15, 2007
Greetings Brothers & Sisters in Christ. I am excited to be apart of the work of our Lord Jesus as I continue to see Him touch lives. I praise Him and thank Him for giving me opportunities to share His love with others. Please continue to pray for us as we move forward with what the Lord would have us do. We are currently praying and talking with others about working on our second CD project. We have had so many comments about how the Lord's blessings came to others through our first CD that we want to pursue a second project. Pray that all this will come together in the next few months. We have also played the sax at the local nursing homes the past months as well. Talk about real ministry to real people. These people are so open to the love of Christ as we have came and shared our lives with them. We will be going back. We also have been playing sax with Clay Campbell and the guys at the Kentucky Opry. Wow!! Great times with great guys! I am thankful to be able to share our music and beliefs with other musicians. Thank you to all who continue to support this ministry. May the Lord's blessings be upon you. SIncerely, Jeff
